Richard Maidment is an international photographer and image retoucher based in London, England. Always having a passion for creating imagery, Richard began his professional career after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in photography from the University of the Arts in 2013.
Richard started his career photographing weddings and this is still something he enjoys very much and feels privileged in doing. For over a decade alongside wedding photography, Richard has worked his way up through a variety of image-based roles within the commercial industry. He specialises in high-end image retouching as well as studio and location-based photography. Richard is currently working as the lead retoucher for a London based luxury fashion brand while taking on high profile photographic and retouching commissions within the commercial and fashion industry.
Richard’s true passion has always been in photographing people and his surroundings. Motivated by a desire to travel and discover, Richard has worked on numerous personal photographic projects at home and abroad exploring a variety of themes and cultures.
Having a personal connection to Japan, Richard has visited and travelled throughout the country many times which has given him a new perspective on life. His photographic work has been exhibited in Tokyo and he continues to visit and photograph in Japan as often as he can during his busy schedule.
